The Presidential Oath of Office

The Presidential Oath of Office

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
When reading the oath and the "to the best of my Ability" qualifier I think a good case can be made that the buck does not stop at the oval office for #(44+1). There is no responsible party in the office! As an analogy: If parents let their eight-year-old drive their car, knowing full well that he is not competent to do this and it is pretty much certain that he may harm himself and others, they will be held accountable for accidents that are caused by the non-qualified driver at the wheel. Transferring this to #(44+1) a lot of the responsibility lies with the Congress men and women, and Senators, who keep the non-qualified "driver" behind the wheel. Whatever their motivations are, they MUST be held accountable by their constituents for their irresponsible support!

Update for the second Trump presidency (1/28/2025):
The voters who elected Trump for his second term are now the responsible party in my view. YOU put him back at the wheel even after he clearly showed his utter disrespect to the Constitution when he whipped up his supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Then he sat hours watching and enjoying the mayhem while people where injured and killed without bending a finger to protect Congress.
After regaining power, Trump immediately reaffirmed his fundamental disrespect by pardoning violent January 6th cop beaters on 1/20/2025! Violence has no place in politics! Neither has corruption. Making good convincing arguments how to make the Union work better is needed. And a willingness to compromise.
